We are an independent Intermediary that act on behalf of a number of Insurers and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and undertake to comply with the regulations laid down by them.
The Selling of General Insurance
Our service includes advising you on your insurance needs, arranging your insurance cover with insurers to meet your requirements and helping you with ongoing changes. We will also assist you with any claim you may need to make
We offer a wide range of insurance products and have access to many leading insurers in the insurance industry. We always act on your behalf in arranging your insurance. We also act for a number of specialist intermediaries to obtain exclusive arrangements for unusual or specialist policies. Full details of any such arrangements will be provided before you make any commitment on any product we offer you.
Charges
It is not our practice to request charges in addition to the premium required by insurers, but if there are any specific charges, you will always be advised in advance.
Renewal premiums are inclusive of a £20.00 policy charge to cover Uninsured Loss Recovery / Legal Expenses Cover. It is our view that this extra cover is essential. Where a Direct Debit scheme is selected where payment is made to a finance provider on a finance agreement, interest charges are as laid down by the Finance company as shown in the credit agreement. Mid term adjustments. In the event of you being quoted an additional premium or a return premium, this will be subject to a minimum £26.25 (unless agreed otherwise, verbally) administration charge being made. Duplicate certificates. Requests for duplicate certificates will be charged for at £26.25 each.
We normally accept payment by credit/debit card or alternatively you can spread your payments through insurers’ instalment schemes or a credit scheme, which we will have arranged with a finance provider. We will give you full information about your payments options when discussing your insurance in detail.
Cancellation (subject to no accidents or claims being made)
A cancellation will only become effective from the date the certificate together with a signed and dated cancellation instruction letter, is received by Thamesbank Insurance Services. Any return of premium will be allowed as a rebate to you at the net amount given by the insurer after deducting our commission payment and an administration charge of £30.00 and any other fees deemed payable to cover any losses experienced by ourselves. In the case of a Direct Debit being paid to a finance company any refund will be made to your account with the Finance company. If there is any outstanding money due to us on your account this will be deducted from the refund given by the insurers. No refund will be allowed if there is an outstanding claim, or a fault claim is made, on your policy. Please refer to your policy / covernote wrap around folder for cancellation charges or contact us for the scale applicable to the insurer you are with via ourselves.

Your attention is particularly drawn to the importance of the declaration and signature on the insurer’s proposal forms. We would draw your attention to the relevant statement on the proposal form.
Policy Documentation
We may retain certain documents such as your Insurance Policy or Certificate whilst we are waiting for full payment of premium from you. We would not normally thereafter retain your documents on our files unless you specifically request us to keep them for you. In these circumstances we will ensure that you receive full details of your insurance cover and will provide you with any documents that you are required to have by law.
Claims Notification
In the unfortunate event that you need to make a claim, or are involved in an incident that may result in a claim being made against you it is your duty to advise your Insurers or us within a maximum period of 14 days.
